-President Buhari dismisses Ministers of Power, Agriculture from cabinet

Two years and some months into the second term, Ministers of Agriculture and Rural Development and Power, Mohammed Sabo Nanono and Engr. Sale Mamman has been dismissed from the cabinet by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari stated that he found it essential to strengthen the cabinet in other to deepen the maximum level of service of its legacy achievements.

This led to a reshuffle of the cabinet, leading to the sack and redeployment of some cabinet members.

The sacked minister of Agriculture is to be replaced by; Dr. Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar former minister of Environment, and Engr. Abubakar D. Aliyu, Minister of State, Works & Housing becomes the new minister ​of Power.

Buhari also commended the cabinet for demonstrating unparalleled resilience that helped the government to navigate the disruption to global systems and governance occasioned by the emergence of COVID-19 shortly after the inauguration.

He also mentioned that he has met with the departing ministers and thanked them for their services rendered as today marks the end of their service.

He denoted that other vacant positions will be refilled in due time according to the terms of the constitution.
