Nigerians are barred from entering the UAE

The United Arab Emirates immigration officials have imposed a visa restriction on Nigerians and are presently denying visa applications.

On Friday, October 21, a notification was sent to the UAE’s trading partners in Nigeria, including travel businesses.

The visa ban was not explained, but immigration authorities in the United Arab Emirates indicated that all applications are on hold until issues between the UAE government and the Nigerian government are resolved.

It stated,

“All Dubai applications have now been denied. It is generic for Nigerians, and approvals are now on hold.

“Please urge your clients to resubmit C2=A0 applications after the dispute between the two governments has been addressed.

A source from the travel agency Wakanow confirmed the situation to Punch. As per the source:

“True, it was released yesterday.

The Dubai Immigration Department did not specify when the prohibition will be removed, but for the time being, everything is on pause.”

An Air Peace customer service employee, on the other hand, indicated that the airline is still flying to Dubai with passengers who already have legal visas.

The spokesperson also indicated that any changes to flight schedules for Nigerians will be communicated.
